Product Manager

Cazoodle's vertical search engines enable users to find high quality information in specific domains. Existing search engines are focussed on Consumer Electronics, Apartment Rentals and Vacation Rentals. Cazoodle is in the process of building multiple new vertical search engines. The Product Manager will be expected to manage either an existing vertical or the creation of a new vertical/s.

Responsibilities

• Identify areas for product development through analysis of customer requirements, market trends and gaps in the market place.
• Define the product roadmap and strategic vision for the product/s.
• Analyze marketplace, customers, and competitors to determine the right features to bring to market along with overall feature prioritization.
• Monitor progress of the product through the product development life cycle, identifying risks and opportunities
• Demonstrate effective project management skills for projects.
• Excel both at strategic planning and tactical, detailed execution.

(We are looking for both part-time and full time candidates. Part time candidates will be expected to work between 10 - 20 hrs/week during the fall semester.)

System Administrator

Hiring for PT, Internships (10-30 hours/week)

Cazoodle's engineering team consists of talented highly-motivated individuals who always think outside the box and eager to push their ideas to reality. The system administrator will be expected to assist in the support and management of Cazoodle's network and server infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Provide hardware, software, application and limited network support for production and non-production servers.
• Perform hardware and software installation, upgrade, support, maintenance and troubleshooting for UNIX and Linux systems (Ubuntu/Gentoo)
• Hardware and operating system installation and upgrades.
• Assist the development staff in regards to deploying code updates, provisioning development servers and stress test lab environments and modifying systems/application configurations as needed to achieve company approved goals and objectives.
• Assist the Manager of System Engineering with the daily operations and maintenance of our data centers.
• Design and code scripts, tools and utilities in support of production deployment functions.
• Initiate projects to automate and improve current procedures and processes.

Qualifications

Software Developer

We are recruiting strong developers for Agent Platform development. AP is a system for gathering structured and semi-structured data from the Web. The system is powering up Cazoodle Apartment Search for collecting apartments and Cazoodle Shopping Search for collecting product offers, specifications and reviews from thousands of data sources.

Responsibilities

As a member of our AP team, you will be responsible for design and implement creative solutions to real problems related to crawling and data extraction.

Qualifications

• Experience in either C# or Java - have good command of an IDE (Visual Studio or Eclipse)
• Can work independently on a given problem -- exploration of solutions and their trade-offs.
• Reliable team member -- good code style, documentation; familiar with version control (Git/SVN)
• Responsible, honest, open, respectful.
• Good command of English, able to communicate effectively in English.
